The following email comes from the WSCF Latin America and Caribbean Regional Secretary, Rev'd Dan Gonzalez Ortega:
Dear brothers and sisters,
Receive a fraternal greeting from the Regional Office of WSCF of Latin America, hoping that the love and grace of our God continue with us in our paths.
En this moment, I write you with much pain for the situation that we are living in Haiti. I have tried with all means to communicate with the Reverend Esdras Salomon, who is the representative of MEC in Haiti and up until now I have not had any success.
From the Regional Office of FUMEC ALC, we are calling for solidarity to all members of WSCF from around the world for a special offering designated for our Haitian brothers and sisters as a testimony of love and accompaniment from the student communities.
We are asking for volunteers to organize a mission of pastoral accompaniment from MEC to Haiti, for which we need both human and economic resources. At the same time, we invite you to write letters, create paintings o other creative expressions from the WSCF regions as a symbol of hope for our brothers and sisters that are suffering.
You can make contributions to the bank account:
We invite you to open your hearts in prayer:
God that walks with the people,
We have hope that a new day will dawn for the brothers and sisters in Haiti.
We are in difficult moments that move all such that with their indifference they destroy the Creation to satisfy their personal interests.
Help us as WSCF to unite our hands around the world in solidarity, to bring assistance through your Grace and love to those that suffer.
That your Holy Spirit through your renewing strength accompany each of your sons and daughters, bringing ud comfort and hope strengthened in faith.
God of life, we are in your hands,
Amen.
We are asking for more information, we will continue forward,
Gustavo
