What is church?

National conference 2008

  • Are we more 'church' when we do social justice work than when we meet on Sundays?

  • Do denominations have any meaning anymore?

  • How can we learn from the early followers of Jesus?

Conference details

Getting there

Visitors from outside Sydney are welcome to arrive on Monday at any time before 4pm, and we will look after you from there! For Sydneysiders, we will be catching a train up together on Monday afternoon.

What to bring

Blankets are provided, but you'll need sheets. Don't forget lots of warm clothes! Feel free to bring musical instruments, games, etc…

After the conference

The conference will finish on Thursday after lunch. The train from Katoomba to the airport takes (at least) 2 hours.

The conference will be followed by the ASCM's 'July general committee', which will also be held at Waratah Lodge.

Some people will be going to the School of Discipleship in Canberra (10-13 July), where Ched Myers is the main speaker, and we may be able to organise billeting for you if you're not from Sydney. If you need to stay after the conference for this or because your plane leaves on Friday, let us know.

Costs

$150 waged
$100 student/unwaged

All students welcome!
