ASCM is a member of the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF) in the Asia-Pacific Region (AP). WSCF Asia-Pacific organises several regional programmes each year, which are open to SCM members to attend. Details about previous and coming programmes can be found below or on the WSCF-AP website. Following is a list of WSCF events scheduled for 2008.
One of the most important ways ASCM is involved in regional and global movements is through the participation of Australian SCMers in conferences organised by the WSCF. In 2007, ASCM sent delegates to two WSCF Asia-Pacific conferences. In June, Hannah Angus from Sydney, one of ASCM's Human Rights Officers, attended a Human Rights Workshop and International Youth Solidarity Mission hosted by SCM Philippines. In November, Bronislava Lee, also from Sydney, attended the Women Doing Theology conference hosted by the Korean Student Christian Federation.
WSCF programs sometimes produce reports, statements or other documents. Opinions expressed in these documents do not necessarily reflect the views of the writers or of the movement as a whole.
